4D™ answers The Critical Questions for the 21st CENTURY ORGANIZATION. Quite simply it is a sequence of 4 Frameworks that ensure a leadership team thinks deeply - and in the widest CONTEXT - about what COULD, SHOULD and WILL be done to ensure the future it wants. It then sustains the OUTCOME through TOOLS and TECHNIQUES right across the enterprise. It’s PROVEN and UNIQUE

Go to: 4D™, The 'Pixar' Of Consulting, A Vision Model
4D™ is our approach to solving complex problems. It is an answer machine for every business problem or opportunity. We have designed 4 phases which are undergone in a variety of pragmatic ways. We deploy this with an extensive portfolio of skills to implement them
Given the agreement over the critical Exam Questions we the use the core skills of Conversations, Pattern Recognition,Facilitation, Visualisation, Design Thinking, Contextual Analysis, Systems Thinking, Integrative Thinking and Information Design - We then deploy through SVT Live™ and Vision Models
Explaining The Frameworks of 4D™
4D™ Explained
4D™ is quite simply the 4 phases of:
- Discovering - alignment of the key stakeholders - creating the right context for what is and what is possible. Do we all agree and share common ground and definitions of what we could do.
- Developing of what we have now uncovered/discovered in the Discovering phase and is understood to be required. We are now starting to create strategies, change scenarios - hard plans for the future.
- Deciding which then sorts all of the choices into a coherent set - a journey - a road-map that leads to the outcomes and finally
- Deploying which sustains the transformation or change program over the long term.
The Logic Frameworks
During each phase we use the following logical modules - visual frameworks - as complete sets of information. They are caused by dialog, followed by analysis, in order to create the widest context before distilling the knowledge into the key decisions. See Decision Manifesto

The Business Equation: Discovery and Alignment
"Which message or offer [h] about which blend of product [e] and service [f], [tangible and intangible assets] through which channel [e], addressing what trend or point of pain [c], to which most valuable customers [b], displaying what aspiration or need [a]. Built on which criteria [h] with what capabilities and behaviours [i], against what time-line [j] achieving the goals [k] at minimum risk and maximum return on investment."The Business Equation: Development
"To achieve the desired Strategic Outcome, or ultimate Goal (h) and in order to experience a Redefined Condition (g) ... the effects that result in new value, which is in turn underpinned by a considered Governance, Capability and Cultural Environment (f), what is the planned Roadmap of Activities and Actions (e), or Action Plan, that will deliver against the agreed significant Themes (d) that will drive the strategy towards the new Future Vision (c) based on the strategic Business Imperatives (b) (the business case for why this is precise thinking) which are driving the move away from the Current Reality (a)"
More Detail
The outcome of 4D™ is based on facts and attributes, criteria and shared decisions. It thrives on the patterns and values that emerge. See Pattern Recognition
- 4D™ is our Approach to Problem Solving, Innovation, higher Level Thinking and then communicating the outcomes of these assignments. Strategy Formulation, Change and Transformation, Information Design and Communication. See Solutions
- The approach is used for all applications where complexity needs resolving and clarity the outcome. Businesses wishing to think creatively, push the bar on their performance or develop strategy in every area of business.See Clients
- Solving the right problem. In advance of every assignment we perform 4D™ - T-Zero, where T stands for think. This means we prepare for each assignment and each 'team' intervention in direct relation to an agreed and outcome.
- The delivery of 4D™ rests on the teams ability to get confident with the questions posed within the framework and the mathematical equation it rests on. The Business Equation™. The idea is simple - we get the right environment, the right people and we bring the techniques of Structured Visual Thinking™ to bear on it.

The logic behind the sequence gives a lot of comfort to the group as it relies on frameworks that they themselves have built and therefore can now understand and our role is to guide the team along the way. See Facilitation
The right answer to a given problem and ensuring we deal with the causes and not the effects is our aim and is a direct result of the application of the structured modules of 4D™ and Structured Visual Thinking™ Best Practice Principles
During 4D™ we call on the various tools within our portfolio, Scenarios™, Journeys™ and combine them as we proceed to build the best environment for thinking - En Route™ See Experience
Line Of Sight
Developing what we should do enabling the business to design alternative strategies that will achieve agreed outcomes.
Go to: 4D™, Structured Visual Thinking, The Mission
Line of sight is built across all phases. These phases are linked in every way. Starting with the Discovery Framework (D1) created via an intervention with a senior team (see what they say - References) with the outcome of a clear understanding of the business context. This gives rise to gaps, alignment, new ideas and in many cases multiple choices of direction which are explored across the 4 phases of the approach. See Outcomes
