Applying Critical Principles
We apply the following principles to every assignment – every phase of every program of work. We do this from bitter experience and by being clients ourselves. And because we've seen too many businesses pursuing the dream of becoming a 21st Century Organization and being thwarted by ignoring the basics.
"The simple acts of conversation, logic, co-creation, structure and visualization are core to survival in the 21st Century..."
Our approach 4D™ and the philosophy of SVT™ blends these things perfectly delivering ownership, confidence and engagement - dramatically limiting heat, and optimizing light in a way that is eagerly absorbed - with laser focus - by those who can and must succeed.
4D™ causes effective, efficient performance – accelerated results that can be felt in the enterprise and across the most rigid institutional contexts.
The 10 Business Critical Principles of 4D™ in the 21st Century Organization
- Visibility & Coherence. Building scenarios of the future state and critical measures and performance indicators enable the rapid comparison and then agreement on what are often intangible, emergent and abstract ideas.
- Transparency & Definition. Allowing semantic definitions and differing interpretation or opinion into complex program implementation causes significant risk and program failure as well as massive cost implications and frustration.
- Rigor & Accuracy. Building on a logic framework increases innovation and ingenuity of thinking and through its precision radically reduces cost at the same time as increasing value.
- Unification & Engagement. Collaboration and co-creation across multiple stakeholders forces significant engagement and ownership of the delivery. Add to this further improvement and effectiveness (congruency) via far closer alignment of the team and the leadership.
- Precision & Appreciation. These frameworks throw sharp light on the potential for errors, inappropriate processes or inefficient systems.
- Acceleration & Iteration. Clarity, energy and focus across multi disciplinary teams is essential for a quality outcome in any program of work. Our frameworks ensure this by accelerating understanding of crucial ‘cause and effect’ modeling and logical appreciative inquiry. It's a Socratic method so agreement via dialog is highly respectful and our role is therefore totally unbiased - other than toward the correct answer for the team.
- Collaboration & Interoperability. All change and transformation events involve complex programs of work because there are always implications, unintended consequences, many hundreds of moving parts and the necessary involvement of different skills and resources. The only way to reduce risk of failure is to build a shared framework within which to operate and co-operate.
- Compression & Productivity. Immediate value emerges as the approach involves real time productivity and deliverable outcomes. The whole approach is about rapid value creation and decision compression.
- Sustainability & Ownership. Because the deliverables are built with the leadership teams there is real sustainability and advocacy making the artifacts pervasive and practical tools for delivery and change.
- Understanding & Accountability. All change requires alteration of behavior. This is the single biggest cause of program failure. The approach is therefore built to engage and therefore inclusive and immersive.
